Healthcare usability can affect a great number of individuals at any point in their life, from medical professionals, to the patients they see and treat to health insurance companies. An individual’s experience and quality of life can be impacted by an endless number of systems and tasks. It is vital to consider and improve the usability of healthcare systems such as those that aid in diagnosis, distribute drugs/treatments and even track health insurance and benefits, as they can greatly impact each of us.
World Usability Day on November 8, 2007, is aiming to take a close look at the user experience and its affect on healthcare. This event, which aims to raise awareness and visibility of usability engineering and user centered design, will take place in cities around the world. In Chicago, our program will offer presentations and other activities that focus on the usability of all aspects of healthcare.
